Its so strange that we spend so little time being aware of the most intimate things in our lives. Actually, its almost a shame that we don't. Well, today, i will correct this wrong and pay tribute to the three most intimate items in my life.
My watch, toothbrush and underwear.
You sit on my wrist everyday. You tell me the time. You remind me when i'm late. You give me the clarity of thought that comes with knowing when i am (the thing that tells me where i am at any one point is insignificant at this point of time). I spend very little time looking at you, that's for sure, but you're always there when i need you. To you, dearest watch, i raise my glass in honour.

You are in my mouth at least once a day (on days when i remember, twice; sorry). You clean my teeth, you are responsible for that sparkly smile i do not have. But all my teeth are there because of you and i am grateful for your tireless effort. You've had many brothers and sisters, all of them have served me well, and you will one day be consigned to dustbin heaven too. But before that day comes, let me just say, "Thank you for braving where angels fear to tread."

You've probably got the worst job on earth, and for that i can only apologize and promise to use more deodorant and powder. You soak it up (what exactly, only you and i will ever know), you sweat it out, you bear a heavy burden. And you do it with such pride! Never flinching, always strong, always being the support i need when no one else is there to lift me up. Who needs a woman, when i have you, loyal friend? To you, let me just wish my utmost thanks, thank you for going where no man has gone before.
