Enter the Matrix

Nearly every blog i've visited has made some mention about how "Matrix Reloaded":http://edition.cnn.com/2003/SHOWBIZ/Movies/05/14/sprj.cas03.review.matrix/index.html is an fantastic/cool/excellent movie. And it peeves me that no one has made any mention at all about "the third Matrix movie":http://edition.cnn.com/2003/TECH/fun.games/05/15/cnna.matrix.game/index.html that was released on the same day as "Reloaded".

Niobe
Imagine this move in "bullet-time"

Well, perhaps not a movie in the traditional sense of the word. But the amount of work that went into "Enter the Matrix":http://www.enterthematrixgame.com/, the computer game, may almost qualify it as one. The cinematics and story of this revolutionary effort (available on most major platforms) fill in the blanks of the movie. For example, when Neo instructs everyone to "proceed to their exits" during the meeting between Niobe and the other ship captains early in the movie, the game picks up at that point to show you how Niobe reaches her exit (after fighting through a ton of baddies).

"Bullet-time" is excecuted very well in this game, though i think it may be difficult for a newbie to pick up at first go. My first few tries saw me running blindly across walls and getting no where; enemy bullets slowmo-ed past me (you've got to see this effect to believe it), but positioning myself properly to strike back while in "bullet-time" was challenging.

All in all, i reckon this is a superb game. I'm playing it feverishly between bouts of "Championship Manager 4":http://www.sigames.com/. Don't miss it if you want more Matrix and can't wait for "Revolutions":http://www.upcomingmovies.com/matrix3.html.
