The great thing about weekends is that it gives me time to do some leisurely shopping. And i try to give some of this time to a weekly visit to "Tower Records":http://www.towerrecords.com/ (either Mega Mall, or One Utama). Recently, i picked up "Madonna's":http://www.madonna.com/ "American Life" and, gosh, it is a doozer.

Madonna's "American Life"
Expect loads of strong, pure vocals in this one. No tricks, no gimmicks, just Madonna - track 4, "Love Profusion" is an excellent example of this. Expect a lot of reference to spirituality and religion - her music has evolved since "Music":http://www.music-critic.com/pop/madonna_music.htm and "Ray of Light":http://www.eonline.com/Reviews/Facts/Music/RevID/0,1107,736,00.html that was mostly a collection of dance tracks, pandering to the whims of the European market. Expect a lot of acoustic guitar play - this is a welcome change; soothing, mellowed tones have been used very well throughout the album. Always did like the guitar, so perhaps, i'm biased in this regard.
Good album. Go buy it.
