Off to Melaka and INFOSOC

| | Comments (0)

Hitting the road in a few minutes. Off to the historical city of Melaka, just about 2 hours drive south of KL. Will be there till Tuesday evening, will be making my presentation for INFOSOC on Monday, 2pm, Hotel Equatorial. Wish me luck; it promises to be a blast! Anyone in the neighbourhood is very welcome to drop by and laugh at me! :)

Anyone interested to follow the progress of the conference can check out the official INFOSOC "worksheet", http://conference.najahnasseri.org. Najah is hosting the site (once the conference is over, the content will be archived in the NITC website), the conference reporters will all have access to it, and all reports about the various sessions and panel discussions going on will be posted there. Been told that the Melaka state government has wired the Equatorial with WiFi - my IBM Thinkpad A31P will feel right home!

UPDATE: Arrived at the Hotel Equatorial. Room looks great, the view of Melaka old town is even better, but the promised WiFi access is almost non-existent. The organisers have got the access point set up but the signal is incredibly weak even when i'm less than 20 feet away. Baik tak payah lah kalau macam tu.
