I've been told that a cooking man is a sexy man. True or not? Perhaps, perhaps not. Anyway below is me in action with the pots and pans last night as i attempted to put together a pasta dish ala Aiz.
Ingredients:
1 500g packet of pasta
1 350ml bottle of Dalmio pasta sauce
5 slices of pepperoni
300g of minced chicken
1 bawang besar (large onion)
Half a garlic clove
3 tomatoes, diced in large chunky bits
50g of white mushrooms
A pinch of parmesan cheese for garnishing
Instructions:
# Put two tablespoons of olive oil in a pot, heat over medium fire. Lightly fry onions and garlic until brown and aroma is released.
# Put in minced chicken. Fry lightly for 2-3 minutes.
# Pour in pasta sauce and slices of pepperoni. Stir for 7 minutes.
# Put in mushrooms and tomatoes. Stir lightly over small fire for 3-4 minutes. Pasta sauce is done.
# Cook pasta in boiling water for 15-20 minutes, till pasta is aldante (firmly spongy). Drain water and serve.
Results:
The sauce turned out very well - just right in the balance of sweet and tomato sour. But the pasta was left in the boiling water for too long. It absorbed too much water, so when the sauce was added to the pasta, the overall taste was a bit bland (tawar).
Leftover pasta will be used to make a baked pasta dish tonight! Watch this space for the pics, recipe and results.
